SAFETY ALERT: If you are in danger, please use a safer computer, or call 911, your local hotline, or the U.S. National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233(SAFE) and TTY 1-800-787-3224. You can leave this site quickly if you click ESCAPE.

For the third consecutive year, support from Verizon Wireless allowed local domestic violence advocates to travel to Washington, D.C. in June to participate in the National Network to End Domestic Violence’s (NNEDV) annual Advocacy Days. The $25,000 for the scholarships came from a donation presented in conjunction with the finale of How Sweet the Sound™, Verizon Wireless’ national choir competition. Verizon Wireless is a recognized corporate leader for its commitment to preventing domestic violence and raising awareness of the issue.

Verizon Wireless’ HopeLine program collects no-longer used wireless phones, batteries and accessories from any wireless service provider at our Communications Stores nationwide and puts the nation’s most reliable wireless network to work in our communities by turning these unused wireless phones into support for victims of domestic violence.

In recognition of the difference men can play in stopping abuse before it starts, Verizon Wireless executives took a stand against domestic violence as part of Family Violence Prevention Fund’s Founding Fathers (FVPF) initiative.
